The new school year is fast approaching, and we all know how hectic and pricey it can be when gathering back to school supplies. That’s why nonprofit organization Service League of Green Bay puts together the Back to School Store every year to help more than 1,500 children get the items they need to start the school year right.
Each student receives:
- A new backpack
- New school supplies
- A new outfit, shoes
- A dental screening.
Back to School Store: A Huge Success
This year’s Back to School Store took place at Green Bay East High School on August 7th. Children were lined up to the door to receive their goodie bags and an oral cancer screening.
Every year, Dr. Chad Yenchesky donates his time and energy to perform dentistry for Green Bay children. On Wednesday, he performed 225+ dental screenings in a matter of 2.5 hours!
How do dental screenings help children iUnfortunately
Unfortunately, children do not have regular access to dental care to live life with a healthy smile, but the Back to School Store event helps children get that healthy dental care. Co-chairman of the Back to School Store Laura says:
“It’s important for the kids to have access to dental care and school supplies to live happier and healthier lives.”
Giving these dental screenings for children ensures they are free from life-threating diseases and can start the school year pain-free.
We are honored to be part of this wonderful cause, and we plan to continue our support for the Service League of Green Bay. Way to go Dr. Yenchesky!
