BOTOX is a neurotoxin that targets your nervous system and blocks nerve signaling that stimulates muscle contraction. This action causes temporary muscle paralysis.
How Long Does BOTOX Injection Last?
The BOTOX injection typically takes three to five days to take effect fully, but some patients may see results in seven to 10 days. This is not an immediate process because it takes some time for the neurotoxins to affect the muscles.
BOTOX can last anywhere between 3-6 months. Over time, the muscle is able to work overtime again, which means the wrinkles and lines come back. With multiple injections, wrinkles can appear less deep due to muscle shrinkage.
While many Fox View Dental patients may wish that the effects of BOTOX would last forever, they, unfortunately, will fade over time. The neurotoxin will wear off, and the nerves will once again be able to communicate with the muscles to contract. This is when re-treatment becomes necessary.
Everyone has their own unique experience, and patient results may vary.
